Bailey Family

As we're driving out of the pickup line after school, Seth notices his seatbelt is stuck in the door...those line directors are really into the line must keep GOING, so I said, "just sit in Carolyn's carseat" (they both have a booster and all the girls stayed at the house with Uncle Will today). Seth: "But I'll be a girl." Me: no, you won't. Daddy likes pink shirts. and no one can see you anyways (the windows are tinted...I thought my argument had worked) Seth: "They're all looking at me" (What?! The people driving by?) He did survive home and he was indeed still a boy, nevertheless the pink princess booster seat. And I do plan on posting more...I've just been busy.  And I need to stop typing b/c I'm feeling a little moody tonight and I don't want to say anything stupid...but I will catch you up on February later...if you care.

I love Mommy she loves me. We love Daddy, yes sirree! He loves us and so you see - we are a Happy Family I love sister, she loves me. We love brother, yes siree! He loves us and so you see - we are a Happy Family!  Seth's 6 year old doctor visit - he wasn't thrilled about the "dress" they gave him to wear. One of her favorite pajamas (yeah, we know she's going to be trouble when she's a teenager if she keeps as pretty and sassy as she is now!) (No, we didn't buy our already sassy little girl pajamas with a smile on the butt...it was a hand me down I was going to keep on handing, but she insisted on keeping...) If that were a video, you'd see her shaking her butt back and forth. (In case you can't tell, she's singing "happy birthday to you".) sorry about the poor video-ing during the untwisting of balloon strings! the end is the cutest when they're singing together, but i don't know how to edit ...

So...several people have said, "you should get a facebook"...and I thought, oh, that's just something for my very social brother Jacob. I don't have time for another thing. Then, Rob got one (for some insane reason b/c he barely keeps up with his blog)...I think it was for his sister.  So, now he wants me to get one...so he can 'link' to me as his wife. So, I just wasted about 15 minutes looking at pages of people he had as friends (it only lets you look at the full profile of friends...which makes me feel a little better about the idea).  I still don't think I have time for facebook and a blog...and I'm pretty sure it would take me months before I even kept up with it...but in case I change my mind, who's going to teach me how to use it?  Should I add yet another thing to my "computer wasting time agenda"?

Seth and I glued 100 strings to a poster for his 100 day of school project. (In case you're counting - there are 50 "stars", 3x13 "stripes" (39), and 11 pieces in letters.) Ok, no, the flag wasn't his idea, but he did almost all of the cutting and well over half of the pasting. (Elmer's glue is terrible! But he's scared of hot glue...and I don't blame him! His mother gets burned about 3 times per hot glue session!) (actually, what I'm really counting down to is not the end of school, but the beginning of spring. I've had my fill of "winter" for the year.) What are you counting down to? (I know Kristen's answer!)

  Rob has always wanted a surprise party...so for a little over a year, I had plans to throw one for him.  The day Seth started school, I started scrapbooking his childhood album (which was his present). New year's day, I started making phone calls (which took me weeks to sneak in) to start arranging things. As several pointed out to me Saturday, I'm not that great of a liar (which I think is a good thing!), but this made planning the party SO difficult!!  I was constantly thinking of a lie to cover a possible question he might ask about something suspicious or to cover someone's slip of the tongue. (Man, I'm glad that's done - lying is exhausting!) But it came together...and the day had more surprises for all of us...read on! Waiting (Jacob was assigned the job of coming up with something to get Rob out of the house from 11-12...he did such a great job, he went "the extra mile" and took until after 1.)  Natalie was just cute here. Tomorrow my twins will be 2! Can you believe it?? I can hardly believe that it's been a whole two years since they were born (since I was as big as a bus and could hardly roll off the bed!) But they are...and they are SO different. Natalie likes to 'fix' her hair and requests hairbows and clips and headbands. Kaitlyn prefers a hat or nothing at all. She says "I don't like it cute." *update - February 2013 - Kaitlyn (twins age 6 now) prefers to do her own hair - often somewhat stylish, but occasionally a little off-beat. Natalie could care less if her hair is done, but is just starting to even be willing to fix her hair - she would rather me do it for her. Natalie prefers juice or white milk. Kaitlyn prefers only chocolate milk. *update - February 2013 - Natalie prefers water, Kaitlyn anything with flavor - clear kool-aid, pink milk, chocolate milk, grape juice, etc. Natalie is scared of very little. So, yesterday was Rob's birthday. (Yeah, he turned 30 and I just said that in a "by the way" attitude.) The funny thing is that my entire family forgot about it! Haha...he thought it was funny too. (We'll give Jacob slack since he thought yesterday was the 24th.)  Why did they forget?  Because we all have Will on the brain! Will is my brother (#4 of the kids), and has been gone for two years to Chile to tell everyone about the gospel of Jesus Christ and to invite them to baptism into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints....and tomorrow he's coming HOME!   For part of family home evening tonight, for some fun, we're played "Where's Uncle Will?" (like Where's Waldo)....can you find Uncle Will? (The first picture has just him so you know or remember what he looks like.) haha - I just threw that one in to be difficult! Come on! Seth's still young enough where I can report his report card on here for family to see without him being embarrassed by my bragging...so I am! :) (I never mentioned 1st quarter - the comment was "Seth is such a joy to have in class. He is reading up a storm and can recognize 50 sight words already. His math skills are great! Keep up the great work!" and got mostly "C" for consistently demonstrated with a few "S" for sometimes demonstrated - no R's for rarely demonstrated.) So, this time, several of the "S" went up to a "C". A few stayed the same (like demonstrates self confidence was still only sometimes...and I can believe it - he can be such a perfectionist that he's often afraid of screwing up. But his direction following and interaction with familiar adults improved as did his using simple strategies to resolve conflicts. yea.) 8:30 this morning My angels making Snow Angels 9 AM Breakfast: It was pretty chilly out, so we didn't stay out long. Seth even asked for "hot cocoa" and wanted his poptart in the microwave (he usually wants them straight out of the package and doesn't even know they go in the toaster!) (pancakes for girls, poptart for Seth, homemade bagel for mommy...no kidding - I made them last night with my new bread machine) 11:15 (after cleaning the house) Yeah, it's completely melted from all yards and most roofs, but there was enough snow on the plastic toys and Rob's car to make some snowballs and a snowbear. People have asked me (many times), "How do you do it?" Especially when I'm out in public with the kids - it used to be 4, but now that Seth's in school, it's just 3 I take with me. It can be a challenge, because the only grocery stores around here that have twin carts are Kroger and BiLo...to my knowledge. The problem is that WALMART DOES NOT HAVE TWIN CARTS. I have mentioned to several checkout associates that they should get them, in hopes that it will make it up to the manager, but apparently Walmart doesn't care. (Is that really a big surprise to anyone though?) So, when I'm at a store that does not provide shopping carts where both of my youngest hooligans can be strapped down, here has been my strategy: 1. Use two carts with a carrier (or child when they can sit) in the child seat area of each cart. If Seth was willing, he would push one for me. If not, I would push one and pull the other. Introducing... My Project Blog: From Beth's Craft Table I created this blog last fall to be a place where I can post my projects (mostly things I create by my own design, but maybe some things I've copied from others with credit given to them).  I'm not that great at tutorials or instructions yet, but that's what I'm hoping to get better at, so that others can use my project blog as a resource for projects just as I do for ones that I find. I like to find free ideas and instructions, so my goal is to create a place for crafters to find just that! (Even if you never have the intention of trying to make one of my projects, look at it anyways...and feel free to give constructive criticism. 8 hours + 4 kids + 1 very full van = A stop at Burger King half way there!  (and then back on the road) Rob and Pep The kids did some art on Sunday before Church (yes, they are sporting art smocks -- a trash bag and a grocery bag with head and arm holes cut out!)
