July has flown by

We've settled in nicely since bringing the baby home. I love the Welcome home signs the kids made for Gideon. My mom came for a week to help me after we got home from the hospital. Included in that help was preparing Seth for Youth Conference. (It was his first and I was glad she was here to help him get his stuff packed and ready...and get some shopping done with him. She likes to shop.) Between Rob and mom, we did doctor's visits, shopping, kids still got to go to the library and church stuff with friends. Rob took a week off from work to stay home last week. We mostly stayed home for the week. (Part of that was on account of Alee getting sick Sunday night before mom left to go home the next day.) She was quarantined and separately from her, so were Gideon and Mommy! No one else got sick. On Friday, we ventured out to go swimming. First, a picture, then the story of the week, then the details of his birth! Gideon Edward Bailey 8 lbs 10 oz 20" long Born 2:28 am Saturday 8 July 2017 Our week: After the 4th, I went to the doctor for my weekly checkup (on the 5th) and found I was still at 4cm. The doctor was surprised I even made it to that appointment. We went to the park that afternoon (tried walking - too hot!), and we went to the pool on Thursday (better, but still very hot and even with sunscreen, we had some burns). Natalie got to go to my brother's house and my sister in law taught her to straighten her hair. At home, I put curlers in my other girls' hair (Carolyn was gone to a sleepover and Seth just enjoyed a little less female in the house). Friday, Rob was off, so we decided we were going to work on getting the baby out. (I laugh when I think of this because I didn't think it likely I'd go into labor before the next week.)
