Bailey Family

Not much has happened since school started - well, ok, a lot has happened, but it's the all the time every day kind of stuff. Here are some fun highlights (or at least the ones I took pictures of). One Wednesday night recently some members of our ward brought kittens they rescued and are caring for. My kids were in love. (And they were cute holding them.) But I don't like cats and I don't want more pets. I think I said "No" about 20 times that one evening alone. We went up to Rob's parents to visit and the girls all made bread in a bag. Most made loaves, but Alee did hers in little muffin shapes. The girls decided to do dance for their extra curricular this year. (Recital is mother's day weekend for anyone that wants to mark the calendar now!) This is Alee's first year. It really hasn't been that long since my last post, but it FEELS like it's been so long. In the Kitchen Alee wanted to be just like Mom, so she pulled from her toy kitchen (in the playroom) the necessary pieces to make her meal like like mom's. (We were eating bagel breakfast sandwiches with a side of grits (w/ cheese of course). I volunteered to make the cake for Young Women in Excellence...not that my cake skills are that awesome - I just like to bake things loaded with sugar. It turned out ok (appearance wise) and fantastic (taste wise). Drat! I just realized, I don't have a picture here of the finished product! I made little "truffula trees" with cake balls and oreo truffles covered with cotton candy (for fluff) and stacked on fruit loops (for trunks). I think my friend has a picture of it. At the beginning of the summer, I made 2 poster calendars. (I've done this in the past) Instead of filling them up with ideas for fun that I might not feel like (or have time for) doing later, I left the blank with just sticky notes filling in the plans or ideas (or sometimes blank in case we thought of something to add later). As we did things, we filled it in. So instead of a plan, it was like a giant scrapbook page. Tonight, I took pictures of our "pages" to print later as actual pages for the scrapbook. (When I catch up with those...maybe this school year??) I tried to fill in every day even if what we did was almost nothing.
