 I never did get around to that new year's post, did I? I planned to sum up 2020, give a turn-of-the year update, and include holiday pictures. Seeing as how it's a month past Christmas now, and I'm just getting around to that, let me summarize and then skip to January's happenings! I think the "Bailey update 2020" that we put in some of the Christmas cards summarizes 2020 pretty well: We felt really blessed that despite many problems that the pandemic brought on for so many families, we had constant steady income from Rob's job and that he was able to work from home remotely. (We have rearranged several times to find the best place for him to work, but we have all adjusted to his working from home. Because much of his church work is done remotely also, we jokingly call the truck "The Bishop's Office" because of times when he needed to make a private phone call and couldn't find a quiet place in the house. Definition please? A while back we used the word "Epitome" and the kids asked what it meant. If you don't know this word, it rhymes with (and has the same meter as) "give it to me". Carolyn and Seth immediately started asking their phones what epitome means. Carolyn kept getting irritated that her phone misunderstood her and was hearing the wrong word. After about 5 to 10 times, she griped that it kept bringing up "epitome" (pronounce it to rhyme with garden gnome). This was funny enough and we all laughed at the mistake. A few nights ago, Rob commented on something about the kids, using the word epitome, and then repeated it but pronouncing it phonetically. It's now a family joke. Hi! This is Carolyn. Finally it's my turn to blog! So, second or third day into summer vacation and we are told we are going to be measuring our physical abilities (push-ups, sit-ups, etc). Which also includes a boring, sweaty walk around the neighborhood every Monday. Alee decided to be lazy and take a short cut through the grass to get to the front door so she's not in the picture. How does Seth survive wearing a hoodie in 90 degree heat? Kaitlyn got a crystal growing kit from Cracker Barrel. It feels really smooth, like glass. The library had a summer-reading kick-off party and we got to go inside a fire truck. Like always, my glasses have a glare on them.
