Bailey Family

We "sprung" back into school and everything else after spring break (except Carolyn who missed a week due to sickness). She had the strep/flu (or "stru" as her doctor called it). It was an unpleasant 2 weeks - 1 week of sickness and 1 week of double the homework to catch up from her week of missed school following spring break. She's better, we're all fine, and we're all winding down the school year. I think we should start school at the beginning of August (when it's too hot to play outside anymore) and be finished before Mother's day (when attention spans have long since dwindled). 20 more days after today - we can do this! After my school volunteering ended (yearbook and reading weekly with kids), I moved on to a project I started years ago and keep picking up, but have never finished. A Blog book. It took a really long time to go through just 2 years of posts, but they are all neatly arranged into a PDF, and after Rob reads through to edi...

Barely made it...I didn't film this on the last day of the month  - that's just when I remembered that I hadn't posted it yet, so here is Seth for the talent spotlight for this month. (Most month's spotlight will be piano b/c that's a big focus for right now...but I'll try to throw in some other talents occasionally.)

Our fall weather has officially arrived (now, let's just hope it doesn't trick us and go away again like it usually does!) - here they are singing Autumntime. Some of the signs are a little fuzzy - but they are trying to sign: leaves, yellow, red, brown, bright, and colors.

The twins turned 3 on Saturday (stake conference for us and Rob had to help someone move, so he was gone most of the day...) So, we let them open their together present Friday night, and sang to them (all of us that were in Columbia) on Sunday...but they wanted to eat the cake on Saturday before I left for the meeting that night. (I screwed up on the cake so it looks awful and was way too dense...please ignore! I was cooking a lot that day!) So, just me and the other two sang to them Saturday so we could cut the cake for them to have some...and we just sang again Sunday with 1/2 the cake missing - but candles intact! :) Birthdays are really low key around here...can you tell? :)

1. A grandparent asked if Seth had a kindergarten graduation last week. Yes...but in his mother's rush to get out the door with 3 girls (dressed with 'fixed hair') and leave the house immaculate (just in case someone came to look while we were gone), THE CAMERA WAS FORGOTTEN! Here is a sort of 'retake'. (I am going to get a copy of a friend's recording/pictures from the "kindergarten step up") but for now, here's the 'farewell' song they sang for us. (I can't believe he remembered it all!) 2. It's snowing! (j/k ...) Mom said I should take a picture of the messes they make that I've been complaining about recently. (I love my kids, but I love them best before 18 months and after 2 years! I think Carolyn and Seth's age is my favorite so far, although 6-9 months is pretty cute too.) Here's today's disaster (It was supposed to be naptime, and I didn't run back at the first noise...wish I would have looking back!): ...

One of the twins' favorite songs right now is "Wheels on the Bus"...so I hear often in the van: ^^^^ will represent jibberish they use to fill in "wheels a bus a round a round, round a round, round a round ^^^^ all ^^ town" "^^ babies ^^^ wah wah wah, wah wah wah, wah wah wah^^^ all ^^ town" and yesterday I heard a new verse from Kaitlyn: "^^^ potty go pee pee pee, pee pee pee, pee pee pee ^^^^ potty ^^ flush flush flush" I really hope she wasn't going potty on the bus all over town! (I'm sure my brothers can appreciate this new verse!)

Seth comes home singing songs - in fact, he's learned several normal 'kindergarten' things through song, so here are his most common: Counting by 5's to 100. (We also have him singing by 10s.) This is the months of the year - can you say "Hey...MACARENA!"? And my personal favorite... Days of the week: (I think the only word that remains from the 'original tune' is "Wednesday"...watch and see!) His teacher told me at the open house whose cd's they listen to where these songs come from, but I can't remember the name now? It's cute to here him singing all the time. And to hear him spouting off information all the time. (And it's funny to hear Carolyn argue with him and him be right...all the time!) :)
