Some old pictures

Image
I actually did the 5 things on that to-do list (see posting "tagged" below). That never happens. Maybe I should put my to-do list on my blog more often! Some I know have put up old pictures for us to look at, so here are some I had onfile. (The decorated ones were scanned from scrapbooks that my mom made.) Note: Rob's blog is up and going. Some pictures from my life This is a picture of our early dating (we started dating March of 2001, 7 years ago). This is from May (I think) of 2001. One of my most favorite memories is going to the beach with my mom's side of the family, which we did several times. Sometimes, one family would go and others would visit, which may have been what happened here. This has all of my cousins that were born at the time except for a few (Heather- out of the house, Kerry's kids - too far away. Sarah Beth, Conner, and Noah not yet born.) Can you figure out what Edwards cousins these are? I'm the cute one in the...

10 years ago: I was 16, soon to go on my first date (which my mom kept reminding me to be nice on. no not stay pure - she knew that wasn't a problem; she just didn't want me to have an attitude!). If you want to know precisely, I went and got my journal. On 3/19/1998: I tried (note TRIED) to cook hamburgers that night (mom tried to recook them when she got home since they weren't done but they burned). My comprehensive health class watched a video on birth (which I closed my eyes for b/c I didn't want to see it - and still don't - women who want a mirror during birthing are NUTS). And then in my journal I went on a tirade about how I didn't know how I'd be able to get married or live on my own b/c I couldn't cook, clean well, sew, even cut out a pattern (I had recently screwed even that part up), and the thought of birth made me sick (I said in my journal I'd rather adopt).... boy have I come a long way! (I can do all of those things now pretty well....

What a mess they can be

So, when they are good for a long grocery shopping trip, I let them get a 'prize' (usually food/candy that cost less than $3). Seth picked out bubble gum at the checkout. He had some. He shared some with Carolyn. How nice. Here are their blue tongues. So, I was back in my bathroom measuring the width of the shower for a new curtain rod. Kaitlyn came walking in there. I told her 'hi' and then noticed blue liquid running down her chin...hmm? I quickly sweeped her mouth to get out whatever it was...WHO GAVE THE BABY BUBBLE GUM!!!???!?? Of course, the first thing I heard was [Seth] "It wasn't me!" Natalie likes to crawl under Carolyn's bed (about 8" from the floor) and get toys that we keep under there. She's only gotten stuck once. We haven't yet "lost" her under there! Seth has noticed that he can climb the one tree we have, so here they are trying. Guess who had to get him down?

A Bailey Fairytale

Once upon a time there was a princess, who ruled from her high throne. Then, one day one of the princess' sisters thought perhaps she would like to wear the crown. She liked it. She held the sceptor and the kingdom was peaceful. The oldest princess had another crown, so she could share. But then the youngest of them all thought that perhaps she would like her turn to rule. There were but two princess crowns. Sister number two did not agree to this plan. The youngest princess ran away with the crown, leaving the middle princess in tears. But the handsome prince gave up his crown to the little princess, and all were happy again. THE END

Kids say the darndest things - 2

I love the things they say. It's what makes wiping the poop, cleaning up the spilled chocolate milk, changing the peed on sheets, straightening the den three times a day, and refereeing the fights worth it! Carolyn after hurting her toe on the front porch: "Can you kiss my toe?" [Beth thinking about how to avoid it] "Go ahead, kiss it." [We agreed upon a kiss blown to the toe] Looking at Rob's freshly shaved head: "Why did you cut your little hairs? I liked your little hairs. They are cute." (She likes it when he has about a 1/4 inch of hair.) Seth in the van: "Did Jared used to like to play computer and watch tv when he was little like me?" (I told him we didn't have a computer when we were little. So he asked something else, I think about playing outside. I told him but Uncle Jared did like to watch tv when he was little.) "You had TV?!" [I guess if we didn't have a computer, we must have been so backwards we couldn...

Quotes of the Week

Carolyn: (Looking around at Church on Sunday) "Where is President Monson?" (President Monson is the current Prophet and President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) Seth: "When can we go see Jesus and hear Him tell stories?" I pointed out that He didn't exactly live on earth right now so we could read the stories in the scriptures until then. Then he told me, "But He's coming again." or something like that. Can you tell he just had a lesson on the second coming in Primary?:)
