Florida (finally!)

8 hours + 4 kids + 1 very full van =
A stop at Burger King half way there!  (and then back on the road)

Rob and Pep

The kids did some art on Sunday before Church (yes, they are sporting art smocks -- a trash bag and a grocery bag with head and arm holes cut out!) And Mommy did some smocking (all week...wait til you see the cute dresses I'm working on...I should finish them by...summer?)

Our place:
front door and back door (it was a triplex)

the bedrooms and how we slept

(sorry, we didn't take a picture of ourselves sleeping...too bad...haha!)
the kitchen and bathroom

(yeah, that's the whole bathroom except for the shower, which was as wide as the toilet and sink put together...the twins had never showered before, so that was interesting to say the least!)
(I stripped down to my underwear so I wouldn't soak more than was necessary while bathing them each night...more information than you needed?)
the thing in our backyard - we'll call it a veranda; and the view from the veranda:

Isn't she SO cute?
ON TO THE FUN
Rob's sister grabbed his leg while he was walking away to be silly and by the time he got to the kitchen he was wondering how she'd gotten so heavy - only to find Seth AND Carolyn had grabbed on like a chain and he was pulling them all on one foot!

Time for dessert! (that would be a glob of ice cream coming of out Ms. Independent's (Natalie's) mouth)

Suzie (Rob's aunt) was reading the kids a story and they were just laughing to death!
Funny part? The book was blank! (she was just making it up as she went)
Rob's sister made the book in her bookbinding class at BYU.

Jingle Bells JINGLE BELLS Jingle all the WAYYYYYYYYY!

We opened Christmas Eve presents on Monday (too long to explain) and b/c we didn't pack toys (We had to pack Santa!), we had a talk with Santa and it was agreed that he would deliver presents on December 23rd rather than the 25th so the kids would have stuff to play with instead of having it all packed up to go home RIGHT AFTER they got it on Christmas Day.
Carolyn is such a girl

Seth's and Carolyn's presents from Santa

The twins from Santa (the babies are actually old ones we brought...why buy more? Grandma's giving them each twins for Christmas anyways!)

I think this is the 1st or 2nd coat of polish? She put on about 4 that day!
And Seth's remote control car that drives on walls (and is loud as a vacuum!)

So what did we do on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day??
Christmas Eve we went to a park with some friends (Rob and he grew up together and their kids were close in age to ours)
Seth joined a game of basketball with some older boys (that was nice of them to let him "play"). He just informed me that he would like a basketball goal yesterday...why didn't he tell me this months ago??
Carolyn is so "laid back".

WHEEEEEE! (They are so different. I still can't believe they're twins most days!)

And on Christmas? We went to the beach!  I LOVE BEACH PICTURES!
(The extra kids in the pictures are some of Rob's 2nd cousins. They were so kind to let my kids climb all over them and play with them and stuff. The boy  (Jauvid) is about my brother's age - 15 or 16...he told me, but I can't remember? And the girl (Lucille) is about...ok, I really don't remember? We'll say 12.) And of course, Bethany's in one or two.
(picking up seashells)              (running in for water)

(cute footprints)
(running out to fill beach puddle)
  (jumping the waves)

(she's just cute)
(a really close bird!)

(Kaitlyn mad that I won't let her run out alone)

(Bethany and Seth...I love this picture of them)

                                           (washing off before going inside)

(Attacking the 2nd cousins once removed)

Going HOME SWEET HOME and exhausted....
except for Kaitlyn who seemed to require no sleep for the entire trip home!

And that's it  - mostly pictures b/c this was all 3 weeks ago and I just want it up and posted!
Some general text:
The trip was a Boucher Family trip (I think his mom schemed with some help from her sisters) - at Melbourne Beach in FL. She got us a beach house...who can turn down an offer to stay free at a beach house for a week? :)  and we got to see Rob's (maternal) grandparents, and 3 of his mom's sisters (Matante/Ron, Suzie, and Helen) and his mom's cousin Ruth and her husband and two kids (which I've already mentioned my kids loved)...and of course Rob's mom, dad, and sister (who my kids ALWAYS love...and miss...b/c she had to go 'back to school'  - BYU).
We took turns cooking dinner for the crowd and I had fun making some sugary unhealthy desserts that everyone loved...and I got some fun kitchen tools and a new camera - which have all been experimented with - so much fun. It has taken me about 2 weeks to get things back in order (well, mostly). I'm excited about 2009, so much to look forward to (but I think every year feels like that to me). :)
And I might have some good news to tell that began during this Christmas trip...but I don't want to 'jinx' it. (Family, you can stop gossiping  - the good news is NOT a pregnancy.)  But the good news does involve one of the kids.

The phrase "began during this Christmas trip" pretty much tipped me off that it wasn't a pregnancy. ;)

I'm guessing that Carolyn can read....

Question? What made you decide to put the twins all the way in the back of the van and not up closer where Seth and Carolyn are sitting so that you could get to them easier during the drive??

Glad you made it home safe and sound. I hear that east bound stretch of I20 after Atlanta is a killer, or close to it anyway....
