ARRRR! (I have to 'tear up' the pants he says to make him look like a pirate.) Isn't she pretty? (She's sleeping beauty.) Funny, as she wiggled into her bed and under her covers, she said (as is common for her) "Snuggle" and then "I like to snuggle in my bed." And she does...she sleeps in more than all the others. Yea. After three years of living here, the smaller bedroom finally has a valance and shade. This is the twins' room. And these are the twins. I just put this picture b/c I thought they were cute in their comfy little thermal outfits. (Kaitlyn won't fit in hers much longer, and it will be passed down to Natalie.) So, I've been sewing up a storm. My scrapbooks are over a year behind, but I've finally gotten around to other projects I've been wanting to do - including the curtains for the babies' room, Halloween costumes, and one more that I'll begin tonight. Seth likes to say the pledge and hold the flag (we do this at the beginning of 'schooltime' each day, so here he is saying it on his own. Yes, he is wearing two shirts, one on top the other. I don't know why he did this, but it didn't look too bad, so it wasn't worth the battle. Carolyn wore a sunday dress today, 'glass slippers' (her church shoes) with no socks/hose. At least I can still be completely in charge of what the other two wear!

I've been wanting to post something inciteful about how I felt after watching conference this past week and the women's conference the weekend before, but I haven't had time to sit down and think quietly. Yes, sit down, but too much noise to ponder. I will get to it later, but I wanted to post something funny. Carolyn and Seth have been using glue sticks in crafts lately. Carolyn also loves chapstick. You can probably see where this is going... Sometimes when she asks for one, she gets confused and calls it the other. So far, she has not confused their purposes, only their names. However, if you call one day and I say Carolyn's mouth is glued shut, you can be assured that I did not do it! :) (Although I may have considered it before!) Rob would never let me though. Beth caught me before I had really gotten dressed this morning. I like this picture better. Also, although none of the 5 attempts came out right, I plan to modify and retry 4 of them. And I have 7 other "advanced preparation" experiments planned. Denny's will have nothing on my hash browns when I'm done!

I love him, so that title is meant jokingly (not as a threat!) Rob loves hashbrowns (well, meat and potatoes of any kind). So, this morning as part of his Sunday big breakfast, he wanted hashbrowns. We have tried making them about 2-3 different ways many different times. Today, he started searching online for 'the perfect way' to make them. Everyone has a different 'secret' as to how to make them, so he did an experiment this morning: he tried 5 different ways! (Hence the title!) Note-he has about 4-5 more, but they require advance preparation, like the night before kind of preparation. Too much work, I'll stick to grits and eggs with biscuits and leave the hashbrowns to Denny's! (I have my own little continual trials in the kitchen. I recently accomplished Mom's banana pudding...still working on the pound cake. We'll try yesterday's attempt for dessert tonight.)

No, no picture, because you can't really see it. I noticed the clearish line on her bottom gums (her bottom right), and rubbed over it today and sure enough! She has a little scratchy spot just poking through the gums! :) This is about the same age Seth got it...actually, Seth's was 8 months, 4 days (I only remember that b/c it was July 4th that he got it) and for Kaitlyn today is 8 months, 5 days. So, Natalie is my latest in teething...who needs teeth for scavanging the floor for cheerios anyways! I think I'd better go get Natalie before she finds something that's not a cheerio or corn pops! Jacob even enjoyed the Pigeon one...it's cute for older kids who know how to read so you don't have to tell them which character is saying what (it has speech bubbles). Bertie was a Watchdog keeps you guessing until almost the end as to where the book is going. Cute. Check 'em out. Read. I can't think of everything they've mentioned lately, but I put as much as I could think of, and I'll add to it (except for things I don't want them to have that they ask for...like Set...

I've added pictures from the beach trip to see my parents (the Edwards). We also saw several other family members while there. I don't have pictures of them all, but for those that I do, I included captions. I haven't yet (at this time) uploaded pictures from the recent visit from Bob & Julie Bailey (Saba and Nonny as our kids call them) because I haven't had time to edit them, but they will be up soon enough! We went to Leapin' Lizards on Wednesday. It was get in free (one admission per family) day if you wore gamecock clothes, so we all did (even though only one kid got in free). The babies are free as long as they aren't walking (so sit down Natalie and quit letting go of things!), and I'm free b/c what kind of fun could I have? (Actually if I weren't watching them all, it does look kind of fun.) Their online thing says, "Leapin’ Lizards is Columbia’s only Parent-Friendly Inflatable Play Center. I just uploaded some pictures of our room before and after painting last weekend. I also added to the album some picturse of the den while we painted it (December 2005), and a picture of the twins' room (painted last summer). Yes, we've lived here three years and I still haven't made curtains for that room. It's just that we keep rearranging who sleeps where and what rooms are for what that I haven't had anything stay in that room long enough for me to decide! First it was an office, then we had Carolyn, so we separated the kids and it was her room. Then, Jared moved in and I felt bad making him put all his stuff on the floor and sleep on the floor, so we put the kids together and gave Jared that room. Then, Jacob came home and stayed here temporarily and that room was SO FULL there was no room to measure a window to THINK of a curtain being made. Now the twins have that room. I have bought some fabric to make a valence and shade for the room though! :) I just have ...

We went to the zoo on Friday, and it was probably the best outting I've ever had with the kids (without Rob to help). I went alone with them (no friends, no other kids...just me and mine). I was a little anxious about how things would go, but things went so smoothly! We had no schedule but our own. The babies ate lunch just like the big kids, so no looking for a discrete place to nurse or being limited to one bottle feeding, etc. The kids had no other kids to get hyper with. and so on... I didn't take too many pictures, because I'm still spending most of the time trying to keep them all from getting lost! But I'll get better at juggling pictures and outtings! We went to the 'petting zoo' (farm) part of the zoo. I wasn't sure if I'd like to go, but I thought the kids would like it and they did. While checking out the goats, Seth said he would like to feed one. I (as always) didn't have any change and I told him this. (I tend to carry no money. My card...

I don't have much to say this year since I write an email EVERY week to some family and friends to brag about how cute and smart (and sometimes aggravating) my kids are! So, I'm mainly writing today to post some more cute pictures.

Rob said I wrote the post and he posts them. Actually, the first post Rob even wrote for me (so I did neither the writing nor the posting)...I only edited it and took out sentences I really didn't like and said ok to the rest. Also, I know how to post and do most things on the computer. I'm just lazy and I know he knows how, so I let him. :) Rob just asked me what I was 'blogging' (what a silly-sounding word...yes, I know where it comes from). Kaitlyn can sit up really well now. I tried to sit up both twins and get a picture, but Natalie's really unstable and falls. Once I finally got her stable, she reached over and pulled Kaitlyn's shirt and pulled her over. Nuts! Even though this is a "family" blog, my husband Rob will be doing all of the "blogging" and I'll be doing all of the writing. He's the computer whiz- I just write what I want on here. It works just like our Weekly Email site- I write the weekly e-mails and they end up on the site somehow. Maybe I'll learn how to do all that techy stuff some day but with 4 kids under the age of 5 years old, I just don't have time right now. *edit - Turns out - Beth does the blogging! and I love doing it. :)
