November 2011

We attended Country Western Day at the elementary school where the kids showed off their dancing skills (learned in PE). 1st graders - square dance 3rd graders - Shag, SC state dance (Seth did awesome!) Happy 7th birthday! ("Happy Birthday to Me" she sings) Happy 2nd Birthday! (She also sang Happy Birthday to Me...but had a little trouble with the blowing candles - Daddy helped.) Saba and Nonny came to visit. Carolyn and a friend from church had a joint birthday party  (western theme...we're all about that western theme this month!) And Alee decided she wanted snow in november. (After the 2nd snowfall that day, Mommy got smart and put the powder up higher.)  Thanksgiving in Little River with Grammy and Granddaddy Uncle Will insisted the turkey be left whole until time for dinner and that real china and crystal be used. (Beth would have been content with dixie plates) He did do a great job with a thanksgiving video for us all to watch at the end of the weekend. S...

Happy Halloween Birthday

Image
Birthday actually comes first, but I decided to put the halloween pictures first since that's what everyone wants to see! My favorite idea of the year (comfortable and simple, yet obvious without explanation):  Charlie Brown Rapunzel A scientist that turned himself into an owl.... Cinderella All of them (including the dinosaur and penguin not individually pictured). The penguin hated her costume  (The mother didn't care b/c the penguin was a 'recycled' costume....Natalie's 3 years ago)  Changes for Halloween night:  USC cheerleader  (one of her normal outfits anyways. She preferred this to the penguin.) Dr. Mario (is that even a real character? I guess it is better than the owl as you can see the lab coat I made) Cinderella changed to be a ballerina  (she had shoes, but took them off to count her candy) Cousin joined for Halloween night (as Aurora) Pumpkin carving  (The big one was a cyclops, but Will's was photographed more - vomit pumpkin) ...

5 kids

some pictures/update on each child - title and short clip STUNTS That picture makes it look much better than it actually looked: (She tripped and hit the tile...with her head)  With as much as she climbs and runs, it's surprising this was the first time she's had a bump that bad. I used that stool...duh.  oh, make that stunts and tumbling... (her somersaults usually go sideways in the end) 3RD GRADERS HAVE WAY TOO MUCH HOMEWORK  A Timeline - his first project for the year - normal homework takes like an hour...if focused.  PRETTY PRINCESS yea! 1 costume successfully done - costume that goes on like dress up. and she loves it (of course, she is the easiest to please) (I did shorten that a little later) NO PICTURES PLEASE STILL IN CHARGE and they all still listen to her (sometimes)

August 2011

The girls got a new bed (we just couldn't fit that many beds in the room and they weren't all fitting in one)...Alee will move to the trundle after her birthday and the crib will go away.  We got our homework area set up (desks in front of carolyn facing windows) - and supplies out of alee's reach! (Not that it matters...she can get a stool and climb if she wants, but she usually doesn't.)  We had some haircutting experiences (one at the beginning of the month - see distraught Kaitlyn in the background who feels the full guilt of cutting Natalie's hair and natalie's smirk b/c she just doesn't care...and one at the end of the month, which resulted in Kaitlyn getting a 'new do'!) See farther down for THAT one! Kaitlyn was afraid of the punishment mostly (not that there was one - I'd never made a no haircutting rule, so I couldn't give a consequence.) We had our last 'hurrah' (trip to the zoo) the day before school began. And the fir...

Summer 2011

Image
I've barely blogged this summer, so I'll just catch you up on whatever I have pictures of...here goes. We visited with cousins. We made some doll clothes. We made some popsicles (the cookies n cream pudding pops were the biggest hit)! We went to the zoo (about 4 times) We made an ammo/artillery belt and holsters. We visited grandparents and did some crafts. We gave massages. We had portraits done (kids only).  (sorry, I guess I should have rotated that before uploading it...oh well, just turn you head) We went to baby showers (and played with jake and brittany) We (unwillingly for mommy) took pictures on the beach. Alee tried her first soft drink - and LOVED it (Seth just started liking Sprite 0 this year...the only soft drink he likes...the girls still won't drink anything with bubbles in it.) We played dress up (Beth's old dance costumes) We went through 3 outfits a day....I mean, we played with water (but only a little). We did go to a ...
