I forgot!

Image
I so forgot to put Santa pictures from the primary activity! Plus, there’s a family picture of us that I just realized we had! Seth thinks a while then decides on a wish, Carolyn thinks a little longer, then decides on a wish… Natalie just goes for the candy, and Kaitlyn asks, “Mommy, can you get my prize?” And a picture of all 7 of us – the first, and so far, only one!

Christmas

Image
Some of the fun Christmas stuff this year: We went to see The Living Christmas Story put on by Union United Methodist Church – that was SO neat – the kids loved it…they even wanted to go back, but of course, it ended (was only 1 weekend) – and it was drive through, so it was warm. We just went to lights at the zoo this week  - always fun. Our ward put on a “Night in Bethlehem” and these are my pictures from it – they wanted all to dress in Biblical attire, so I through together some costumes from the sheets/curtains I found at Goodwill: (The kids look for the Baby Jesus upon arrival in “Bethlehem”) They made a craft and We had food from the “local Bethlehem cuisine”: The inns were full so we sat on blankets to eat (not Christmasy, but cute) One Saturday after Rob got a pair of overalls to work in…Seth got ready too: The kids got a trampoline for Christmas (yea for good deals after Thanksgiving!) And we went to my dad/mom’s: Alee chilled (sadly, this wa...

Funny Quotes

No time for a Christmas-y post, although I have so much I'd like to post about!...but a few funny things: Last night we went out to eat with Rob's family (they were visiting for Christmas). At the end of the meal, Kaitlyn asked, "Can I get out of my bootie seat now?" :) I tried to avoid the public bathroom before leaving the house (but you know someone's going to have to go at the restaraunt just because you don't want them to...Seth did) - So while he's using it, he reads the wall...it's a phone number. And then, associated with that number are some words offering a service he's never heard of..."Dad, what's a _______?" hmmm...Glad I didn't have to answer that question! I tried to warn my kids about how CrAzY their uncles are on Christmas Eve. They just laughed...they'll see. :) This is the first Christmas the twins have had around my family and Carolyn's only Christmas around them was when she was 2, so they're in fo...

Happy Couples

Image
These are most just pictures of lately. Carolyn taking care of her baby… Uncle Jacob taking a nap with our baby… Rob got us pizza peels (paddles) for our anniversary (which is today) – we always just get a together gift In an attempt to handtoss the crust, one of them ended up heart shaped: Which is pretty appropriate since this was us celebrating our anniversary. I had made double the pizzas and the two shown are “ours” – ham/pineapple and meatlovers (sausage/ham). Jared and Kristen, whose anniversary is today also, came over to celebrate with us, and after the kids went to bed we all 4 (well, 6 if you include the babies), watched a movie together. And speaking of relationships…Brittany came to stay with us this weekend to visit Jacob…which the girls LOVED (I hope she likes kids b/c she was covered in them the whole time she was at our house! They fought over who got to sit beside her – Jacob had to take turns with the girls in who got to sit beside her at ...

Gifts for Jesus

Image
Carolyn's explaining the nativity set to Kaitlyn, specifically the (three) wisemen in the Little People set: "This one brought a liahona for Jesus...and this one brought a drink for Jesus...and this one's bringing a box for Him to put things in he finds on the ground, like money."

Just another day...

1. We need vacuuming daily. Especially if we eat (which we do!) and when it rains (lots of leaves through the den). And right now, we think that vacuuming might be 'too heavy' for me, so Rob's been doing it (although daily doesn't always happen). Monday night (after an hour of power outage), it didn't get finished. So, Tuesday morning, Carolyn was assigned to vacuum the 2 essential rooms before the pest control guy got here. It took her about 30 minutes just to do the dining room and den - I wanted to just grab the thing and take off with it! Anyways, so last night after supper, I asked Rob if he would vacuum the dining room. Carolyn walked in, and said with exasperation, "I just vacuumed this morning!" Rob and I chuckled as she suddenly realized our frustration about the matter. :) (*Anyone with c-section experience, I would like to know what is considered "light housework" and what I am not supposed to be doing?) 2. Another funny comment, the p...

Happy Thanksgiving

Image
We had a quiet thanksgiving...I did take pictures, but they're not that interesting. This morning though, I found this on the kitchen table - I thought it was cute and fit the season (even though it's specifically to Grammy, I'll share it with all): Translation: Dear Grammy, thank you for the fuzzy socks! (with a picture of a fuzzy sock - don't know what the GCS is for - Grammy Carolyn Seth?? - probably Carolyn's attempt before Seth wrote her message for her.)

Happy (early) Birthday Carolyn!

Image
Just born (the first picture is “Black Friday” – I was nuts! I can’t believe I took her out shopping at like 8 days old!) not this year baby!   Carolyn is 1. Carolyn is 2 (and had a bad hair year!) Carolyn is 3. Carolyn is 4. Carolyn is now 5!  well, she will be tomorrow! But I’ll be in labor, and I will not feel like or be able to post anything for her. About her birthday: We had a little “tea party” (I had little time/energy, so by that I mean crackers, pink lemonade, and cake – with my real dishes and in dress up clothes) The Newest Member of our family: She got a baby alive and littlest pet shop for her birthday. She loves the littlest pet shop, but oh my! does she love the baby alive – she holds it, rocks it, feeds it, puts it to sleep – she even took some of the twins socks to give her some “knee socks” this morning to take Seth to school. (It’s cold outside in the mornings.)  Currently she’s singing a lullaby to the baby! She h...
