Spring is slowly coming....

But maybe not quite fast enough for my taste! I'm about to go on strike if it doesn't warm up and stay warm around here! {Disclaimer...I started this post about 2-3 weeks ago!} Every day the weather has been nice, the kids have seized the day! Kaitlyn learned to ride her bike without training wheels this month.     (Natalie started to learn this past weekend [a couple weekends ago], but she takes her learning of new skills slow and steady. Kaitlyn jumps into everything she does full on.) The day I had to get the van's oil changed plus various other things that were expensive, Alee and I had a little sit in their waiting room. Turns out the fun of the memory game and tablet were no match for the pack of balloons I found fortuitously in my purse! Yea for happy surprises.  Leafer (the turtle, remember?) finally got a decent tank set up. Yes, the men brought in the water hose to fill the tank. That turned out better than expected. :) And the deep w...

The rest of February

At the end of the snow days, we did a little for valentine's (probably more than I would have done had the kids been at school and I been shopping like was planned for that Friday) - Oh, Natalie lost her first tooth this month - at the dentist. How convenient is that? It was the cleanest tooth the tooth fairy has every had in this house. And then I took absolutely no pictures of my family coming to visit or of my birthday. Yes, I'll remember to plan ahead next time.) Maybe I'll see if I can put up a video later. This is the best I've got; ev...

We were just minding our business working on 100 day projects, re-organizing bedrooms, and other stuff these past 2 weeks .... and then BAM!  Snowpocalypse 2014 has hit Again! Prefer to see our snow week in video format? Click here to go to YouTube. or just watch here on the blog: For pictures, keep reading... We felt the birds needed feeding and no one wanted those wheat ritz crackers anyways! Attempts at sledding were slightly successful. The northern man in his element. I prefer the reading to the snow. I really just want to take pictures of it.  Dang! We ran out of peanut butter (shopping day is not until tomorrow). You want peanut butter, come help me shell these peanuts! No one wanted that bag of roasted peanuts anyways...my first attempt at homemade peanut butter was okay. They liked it, but I need to work on consistency. Note - Seth says it should be called "UNshelling" peanuts. Had t...
