Recital Saturday!

Image
For those who haven't heard or need a reminder, we have a family recital coming up this Saturday at 3pm. You can watch it live on YouTube , or you can watch the recording of it at that same link. You know you're on the right page if you see this: If you plan to watch it from that link, you may want to know the order of songs, so here is our program. (In case you have trouble getting technology to cooperate, don't worry! You'll only miss me warming up the piano for everyone else.) The individual recordings will be uploaded later, and I'll post links to those within a week. You can watch or share your favorites over and over! Hope you can "come"!

The end of school can not get here fast enough

Let's start with the Gideon quotes and skills! Someone found him licking/eating a (non-toxic) glue stick: "Nummy." He's a wall artist (murals); he's an everything artist. sigh Gideon raised his hand during scriptures (because Kaitlyn had). When I asked if he had anything to say, it was "all done." I told him he had to wait, he asked "pway?" with his hands together and eyes squinted. (It was so cute that I almost gave him one rather than explain they were for later.) He almost put the cord of a pair of headphones in an electrical outlet (most that he can access have plugs, but sometimes they get left out after I vacuum or someone needs the outlet). Sheesh! Natalie caught and stopped him. Scared me like crazy! He's so much mo...

Spring Break and such

Instead of going chronologically, I'm mixing that method with going by person. Kaitlyn had a lot going on this month (at least she had a lot of pictures compared to the others, so we'll start with her.) She decided she wanted short hair, so we cut it.  She's in drama class at school and is loving it. It's not all about acting; they do a lot of writing and other areas of drama. Her teacher sent me an email this past week commenting on what a good writer she is. This picture was from a world-celebration event; the drama class did reader's theaters of some stories from around the world - I recognized Anansi and Tikki Tikki Tembo.  Kaitlyn loves the arts and excels in that area. Even when she's having fun with friends, it's usually in music. (Most of my kids share this love of music and arts, but Kaitlyn is just the loudest about sharing her love.) :) She and her friends got "superior" scores (highest rank) at the solo and ensembl...
