Vacation Flashback
Just a picture overview to show some family vacation fun from December 2020.
We got there and settled in, then had family pictures, family slideshow, and a few days of games and sand and even hot tub! Every family took a meal to prepare/buy and clean up. It was really fun and full of memories. We all were well going, and we all left well afterwards! (That was a huge blessing - that we were all there and all well.)
We had such fun and funny cousin moments!
We love matching pictures with cousins and sisters!
Traditional arm wrestling competition
(This is not my favorite activity, but the boys really love it.)
Funny vacation Gideon moments:
Jared: [Pretends to grab Gideon's dino nuggets].
Gideon: [Shakes head no].
Jared: [Persists in attempting to grab dino nugget].
Gideon: [Reaffirms dino theft denial with head shake].
Jared: [Continues].
Gideon: [Puts hand on Jared's arm] "No, that's my food."
Natalie: "Gideon, how are we gonna get Uncle Jared to stop bothering you?"
Gideon: "We can shoot him."
{0 to 300 there...he did just get a nerf blaster for Christmas, so I'm hoping that's what he had in mind...)
Toddler Trouble...
Gideon held out a toy boat (or plane or car) in his and and said to my brother Jared, "Uncle Jacob, come on let's go make a lake." He followed Gideon up the stairs and said, "but I'm Uncle Jared."
"Okay, Uncle Jared, come on, let's go upstairs." Gideon led him into our bedroom and headed straight for the bathroom sink. He climbed up to the sink and said, "Okay, let's make a lake!" (which of course sounded like "wes make a wake")
In an instant, Jared realized Gideon's intent was to fill the sink with water and "make a lake." Before proceeding to assist with the endeavor, Jared told him that they should ask Mom and Dad first.
Gideon answered, "What? It's not that bad."
Moments with Jacob:
Jake: (asking Gideon) hey say "I love Jake."
Gideon: no
Jake: come on McGideon say "I love Jake"
Gideon: (sigh)
Jake: come on!
Gideon: I don't love Jake
He does love Jake though because he plays along with his silliness:
Jacob was having a fun moment with Gideon who was pretending to sleep on the couch in the main room. He starts narrating what Gideon's doing, making up a story, and as he narrates, he embellishes. He says something like, "and as he dreams, he sings a song about walnuts and corn." Gideon (with his eyes still closed) starts making up a song about walnuts and corn on the spot. It was so funny!
The older boy cousins had a funny moment too. My sister in law took 2 of my nephews upstairs for some quiet time while the babies were sleeping. She gave them the tablet to play a game and she asked them to stay there and be calm. She then asked, "Can I trust you?" And my nephew said, "Yes. Shut the door!" 😂

The girls had so much fun playing, and the adults had so much fun being together, but the boy children and all toddlers really added some flavor to the vacation.
