Spring 2018
Wondering where we've been since early March? Me too! The year is flying past (the year of my kids' lives...the school year can go as fast as it wants!)
Here is what we've been up to...
Performances (can you find the twins?)
Room cleaning and organizing
Learning new skills (pulled up for the first time)
Trying things that are a little too hard
(letting go and standing alone - 8 months old this day)
Remembering
Learning new games (peek-a-boo)
Taking notes (on the window - see the planets?)
Helping family
(Besides our own, this is the 2nd table Rob has helped build - he is the "overseer" to guide through the process; my brother did most of the work.)
Having fun church activities
Making messes (as usual for Alee)
Making Art
(These are done by Carolyn - The first she traced and the art was learning watercolors, the second she drew around a "google" for a contest.)
More school performances (Can you find Alee?)
Music practice
(Look at how Gideon watches them play their music!)
Spring Carnival (with "real" face painters!)
(Can you see Gideon's little moon? Face painting was free for the 12 and under, so might as well take advantage...with a short attention span)
Taking silly pictures
(We're not a "Santa" and "Easter Bunny" picture kind of family, but they got a little stuffed bunny and a professional picture with their face painting in it, so we did it. Alee refused to sit near that person in the weird bunny costume!)
Trying new recipes
(chocolate ice cream - the hard kind where you have to make custard first!)
Eating
Snuggling
Playing...and building a playset! (That's a whole other post! ...coming soon...)
(Some didn't appreciate playset building time)
Museum adventure
Going for family pictures
(No, these aren't the pictures. I just took a few of the kids hanging around waiting on their turn for a picture.)
Getting new toys and learning to use them
Sleeping (not much of that going on around here, but we can imagine)
Learning to cook
Growing some more
(9 months old now!)
Wanting to walk
Performing some more
(This one is Carolyn's turn...Seth's arms are full of stuff for his math homework. High school classes are finally where Seth needs homework help; thank goodness I like math!)
And being so exhausted that we could fall asleep sitting up!
We have a little over 8 weeks of school left. The weather isn't sure what season it wants to be, but we are ready for warm weather and more free time! Spring break was great, but the playset took most of our (Rob and Beth's) time, so we need another break!
Gideon's moving all over - he does a scoot sort of crawl - and he's learning to move doors and open drawers and cabinets (and explore in trash cans! yuk!) He's getting busy, and the other kids are already busy with homework and the end of school stuff. (I may need the energy from the leftover Easter chocolate to push me until June!) :)

Carolyn and her friend actually won the 3-legged race (which is surprising since Carolyn is my most slow-moving child when we're "racing" to get ready and out the door!)
Making messes (as usual for Alee)
(Face paint done for children, by children/teens)

More fun at the spring carnival...
(It was a little cold for a spring carnival)
Back to what else we've been up to....
Trying new recipes
(chocolate ice cream - the hard kind where you have to make custard first!)
Eating
Watching General Conference
(Love President Nelson already!)
(Some didn't appreciate playset building time)
Museum adventure
Going for family pictures
(No, these aren't the pictures. I just took a few of the kids hanging around waiting on their turn for a picture.)
(Seth liked this tree for a reason, but I can't remember why?)
Getting new toys and learning to use them
Sleeping (not much of that going on around here, but we can imagine)
Learning to cook
(Strawberry cinnamon muffins)
Growing some more
