Summer Recital Announcement

Excuse me, may I have your attention, please? This is Beth, interrupting your regular-scheduled children's blogging summer for an important announcement!

This year our Piano Recital (usually held at the end of the school year) was postponed until the end of summer so that we could do some fun extra-hard things and learn some new musical skills (both the kids and the teacher!)
 Our semi-annual piano recital
- which will include piano, strings, and bells, will also include a fun medley-
-(arranged by our family) -
will be held
Tuesday
August 2, 2016
7:00

I will post the link the day of the recital to watch it live online.

Besides progressing through books, we've worked on some ear training fun.
(We do not always wear swimsuits for piano lessons, but they were playing in the water until it was each child's turn to have their lesson.)

The kids each learned to pick out a melody, discover its tempo/note values and write it out on staff paper.

(I learned how to better use a program to produce printed sheet music, and I learned better how to teach 'hearing' the note and finding the tempo.)

Some songs were harder than others and needed more visual help to figure out!

Three weeks until the recital...
