We've made it to spring break

Continuing on with our day to day...

Some days we get a little tired of the day-to-day...spring break, are you coming?

At least spring is here - yea for short sleeves and outside time!
Guess who learned to ride a bike with no training wheels? :)

Guess who taught her?
(Kaitlyn was jealous because she wanted to teach her, but Alee chose Carolyn to teach her since Carolyn is older than Kaitlyn.)

First fall! Shake it off...

Visit from Saba and Nonny - always includes some chess time.

Nonny began a new tradition last summer when she drove through and visited while I was at girls' camp. She has a collection of food cutters, food safe markers, and fun tools to make lunch "bento" style.

(This is a boiled egg shaped while it's in ice water and then colored after it's cool.)

I think this is Carolyn's:

I think this is Seth's:

After Bento Box Lunches, we went to a "ShareFair" of STEAM (STEM) activities. The twins each worked at the Maker table to make little puffball catapults out of an assortment of supplies.
STEM = science, technology, engineering, math (A=art)

And a family group shot:

After a bunch of shots, we're done!
Seth's crazy for pictures. :)

They love their matching doll/girl PJs (which were a Christmas/birthday present from the Baileys).  (Natalie likes hers too; she just wasn't smiling big for the picture.)

After gymnastics one day, Alee "baked a cake" while I was working on supper.
This is her "oven". (She has a play one upstairs, but she likes to bring down her play kitchen stuff sometimes to play kitchen in the real kitchen while I'm cooking.)

Alee has turned a new leaf. Last year she refused to go to birthday parties. She is finally wanting to go and excited about them again. (I'm not sure what her problem with them was?)

Last Saturday, we attended a spring carnival put on at the club we joined through Rob's work.
(We had a funeral to attend of a really great man from church while Alee was at her cousin's birthday party, so we were very late to the carnival, but we were there for enough time.)
I'm going to try to start including things the kids say again (probably mostly Alee). I used to do this when the others were little, but now, I mostly just throw whatever pictures I've got up and call it good.

Kid Quote:
Alee wanted me to put 2 water cups/bottles back downstairs so she wouldn't have 3 at her end table. I commented that 3 was indeed too many.

Carolyn, the nosy older sister who likes to ask questions in what she 'eavesdrop hears', asked "3 of what?"

Alee yelled across the hall "Three of none of your business!"
And then of course said 2 minutes later in her prayer to "please bless that no one is mean to each other."

Kid Quote:
Alee: Grammy and Memere are just a teensy bit nicer than you and Dad. And just a teensy inch more exciting and funner.
(Kaitlyn then pointed out that funner isn't a word, but no one corrected the information, so I guess it's true. Grammy and Memere are nicer and more fun than me and Rob.)

 Kid Quote:
Alee: Look, Mom. We have the same thing on our plates: Macaroni, chicken, and green dots.
[I guess it's been a while since we've had peas.]

Kaitlyn said she was a little embarrassed because she felt like she was on a little kid ride. (I guess it was a tight fit for a 9 year old, but I thought it was cute.)
Free sugary treats! Yum!

After the carnival ended, we enjoyed the playground and then we explored the club facilities.

So glad for warm weather and the kids going outside and moving more that I won't even complain about the pollen!
(I have de-pollinated the porches and spring cleaning with the kids will begin next week. I love to get things de-cluttered and cleaned up in the spring!)

And to finish off this pre-Easter blog post, I LOVED these videos that really carry the true spirit of Easter. Watch at least 1. Watch them all!

Because of Him

Hallelujah!

Spring break begins tomorrow. I have enjoyed a lot of things about this school year so far, but I'm glad for a week off to build up my energy to finish off the school year.
