Girls Camp 2015
My 3rd year attending but my 2nd year staying overnight and being there the entire time - so fun, tiring, new, and worth it!
Our flag (Young Women designed and made - the YW president finished when the time got tight)
Took us forever to set up 2 tents
And then we were told we could use leader Adirondacks (like the girls' behind the tents but smaller)
I was going to just use the tent until a family of 8-legged creatures decided to move into my tent doorway the first night. So, I took the Adirondacks (which turned out to be a lot of fun anyways.)
And just some beautiful land (Camp Barstow - a BSA camp we were allowed to use for young women camp again this year)
My rifle shooting was pretty decent (first time) - all 4 shots very close to each other!
Rock climbing...well, you just can't be good at everything!
(I couldn't even get my shoes to stay on any peg to get me up a level higher...I got about 2 feet off the ground and after falling from that short height several times, I decided it was probably best I just move out of everyone's way. I wish I could have tried the 'easy' wall instead of the intermediate for my first time, but there were too many in line for easy.)
My ankles survived the entire week (they were swollen a lot by this point, but I wasn't limping this year!) Better preparation...and probably just a blessing from prayers! I slept less, but it was a combination of unexpected sleeping arrangements and staying up late to enjoy the bonding moments that only happen at girls' camp.
I plan to go again next year (assuming I still am serving the young women at church), but I also am happy to have a year off until it happens again. :) love my bed (and air conditioning and pest control....)
What about Rob and the kids? Well, I'll let them tell you about their experience themselves!
