Finally made it to summer! Let the fun begin!

Ok, so there is fun during the school year too. :)

Memere surprised the kids with wands, so the kids had to put on costumes to fully appreciate their new prizes.

We celebrated the end of gymnastics this year with an expo to show off skills.

Visits from family - the kids grow so fast when you don't see them for months between visits!
Little E was so cute - her smiles were the melt-your-heart kind.

T-man was so full of energy - he fit right in with Seth, Alee, and those girl cousins. :)
(There are just too many names to remember! Even our friends that visited the weekend before - sorry, I have no pictures! - their little boy also put to memory only the oldest and youngest.)

Piano Recital! (I will - hopefully - upload the videos soon. The original recording, not high quality, but it is available now, can be watched at ustream.)

Then things really heated up after memorial day - just in time for my week of outside adventures!

TWO back-to-back field days for the elementary school girls...

And a two-day project to build something to bless some of of family and friends when they visit.
(We still have some details to finish from deck to kitchen, but ground to deck is done.)

The last week....awards and last day of school pictures and beginning summer activities!
(All A's all year...there were 4 in her grade. The only disappointment? She was hoping some of those 96's were closer to 99 or 100. Only my Carolyn...)

(Carolyn was missing on the first day because she got sick the night before school started. Carolyn was missing from this picture because...well, sometimes siblings just irritate you so bad, you can't stand to be near them for even a picture.)

The day after school let out, we began the adventures - free admission to the Art museum last week:

with friends.
Funny story only in hindsight:
Alee had a moment of not following directions at the beginning of our little tour. (To be specific, she set off an alarm when she touched something!) She received "stroller confinement" for the rest of the visit upstairs (where the breakable stuff is).

And a visit to Mast's General Store around the corner for some old fashioned shopping. (A little candy and toys.)

We have 2 grandparent visits this month - the first was this past weekend.
I could tell we hadn't been to my parents in a while - it's a 3 hour drive from home - because the kids kept asking if we were almost there - about every 30 minutes!
The next visit to grandparents is close enough to make it a day trip.
The last set we only see once a year because it's SO much farther than the other 2.

And a photo of EACH mini-golfing (gotta be fair)!

We decided Alee was playing hockey - her technique involved raking the ball in more than hitting it. And sometimes, she just gave up, picked it up, and dropped it in the hole.

I took a Sunday afternoon nap and woke up to find Grammy had crafted with them.

Yesterday was Monday...for the kids it was kind of boring, but you can't move on to the fun until the "have to's" are done! We established routines and expectations, did our normal piano lessons, and got some order to a kids' closet.
Hopefully, the room assignments (we've done in the past at the last house) will keep the house from turning into destruction central this summer and won't be a nagging point instead.

Needless to say, it was kind of a rough day (I didn't have nearly as much cooperation with cleaning and organizing as I did with getting them ready for the beach 2 days earlier!)

But it looks so much better. 2 kids' closets organized. 1 kid closet to go! The last room will get organized after we paint.

and today the marionette theater came to the library.

Goal: To update every Tuesday this summer.
(I hesitate typing that because it's very likely not to happen that often.) :)
