Halloween, Pumpkins, Birthdays, Projects, Awards, To Do, ....!
I have been so busy. I like having things to do. It actually keeps me productive and unidle...however, too many and I get overwhelmed and a little crazy!
So, I have to let go of some things, and sadly, the blog was unessential this past month. :(
Like my sewing, I do it for fun AND for the benefit of my family...so one project at a time - and this past month was halloween costumes.
So fun to sew because they don't have to be perfect and it's where I've learned a lot of my random sewing skills (this year it was sewing with knits, making tutus, and using a twin needle).
I thought you'd enjoy looking at too many pictures!
(Alee did have little shorts on that day and for Halloween party & trick or treating she wore leggings - Kaitlyn also wore tights under her leotard and ballet shoes, but I didn't have them put them on the day I took these pictures. I thought I'd get good pictures later...as always, I was rushed later, so most of the pictures are in partial costume.)
(Note, the iron man suit as part of her iron maiden costume I did not make but bought at consignment shop.)
I'm not that awesome.
Maybe Will will share his pictures with me before the end of the year...?
Please don't go Uncle Will!
These last two were taken by my friend Naomi at preschool - I had to give her credit b/c I love her photos...this first one I'll probably frame - it's pretty much the description of Alee's life right now - a little dirt on everything and always in the dirt.
Feeling Alee had been neglected a little because of my projects, I took a day off from my to do list for a zoo trip. She was very grateful and cute.
Her favorite - the carousel, specifically the bench shaped like a peacock. (We got it that day but you should see her face when we walk up to it and someone else has it.)
At the end of October, the twins had a field trip to a pumpkin farm on Seth's birthday.
I threw in time for one collage so you wouldn't feel like you were scrolling through pictures forever. You're welcome.
Back to individual shots - Seth got nunchucks (nunchaka?) for his birthday and I decided to call all the boy scout stuff I bought birthday since it cost so MUCH! He also got something else from us, but I can't remember what anymore? No picture, no memory!
Two of the girls gave him a feather necklace - yeah, they probably found that feather walking home from school. My kids and nature...
Halloween's over, so Alee (Tinkerbell bun no longer needed) got a haircut, then said goodbye to our rotting jack-o-lantern.
Seth decided to eat his award. Natalie couldn't stop grinning after she read each of her awards. Kaitlyn the diva stood proudly with hers, and Carolyn inspired Alee to look forward to awards and practice now for accepting them.
And we're a little early on this (her birthday is not for another 3 weeks from when we moved her up) but it was just getting too tight to squish her in that seat!
There, I think you're caught up. Many of these pictures were not taken with much care, so forgive the many blurs, overexposures, and other photo-imperfections. I got it done before 2 months passed! And hopefully I'll have one more post before Thanksgiving.....
