Summer Activities #2

The first two weeks' activities couldn't have been more perfect.
The third week's activities couldn't have been more aggravating.
Fortunately, it went up from there.

Week 3
Most of the outside game day (which was only about an hour) was spent fighting...oh, well, everything can't be perfect. But the pictures can make it look like it was! (I included one Alee being a pain picture in case you can't imagine my children being aggravating.)

 We're still library-going.

I nearly cancelled the zoo day for their aggravating-ness and fighting! (Check out Carolyn's face for a glimpse into the attitudes I was working with.)

No pictures of experiments...I'd had it by then and was fighting with them.

I was concerned about taking them to a drive in movie, knowing it wouldn't start til probably 9 or 9:30, the double feature ending after 1 AM, then the drive home....but much to my surprise it was a lot of fun, the kids slept through the 2nd movie and all the way home and it couldn't have gone better (which was good after my week of playing referee-maid)!

Saturday we got ready for our trip to the beach and took pictures of baby Luke.

Week 4 - Beach
(We weren't there the whole week, but it wears me out to make it feel like a whole week!) :)

We came home to excitement as Jared and Kristen were about to move in to their new house that weekend.

Because we were already exhausted and fed up with our old house, we decided to paint 2 bathrooms in under 24 hours. Not a perfect job, but better than the last guys - who painted AROUND everything (see the  trailer-quality wall board shaped just like the mirror peaking out through the old flat paint)?

We took a break to go swimming at Libbi's family pool party (and met my 2nd cousin's new family)

Saturday was spent helping Jared/Kristen and cleaning up our bathroom messes!

Week 5: beginning....
On Sunday, sweet little Luke was blessed.

So far, we've only decorated cupcakes this week (which was enough project.) Tuesday the activity was cancelled (moved to later) for behavior/Mom's tired!

But today, we started out at church with a flag-raising / breakfast / baptism.

And as soon as I get off this computer, I'm going to do tie dye with the kids (I saved that for a 4-adult day!)...hope that turns out fun and not stressful....we shall see.

Hope you enjoyed the glimpse into our not-always-perfect, but mostly-fun-and-constantly-moving kind of summer! More to come...
Happy 4th of July!

Seems like our beach week went by way to fast!
