Summer’s flying by…!

YES, I know I have been terribly slack about posting…my posts have gone down to a bunch of pictures really…and they’re getting more so by the month…we are functioning (which says something in itself…5 kids is harder than I thought it would be), but I have had to let go here and there…and blog and facebook are two of those ‘let go’ areas.  Anyways, here’s what’s been going on so far:

We have a schedule (so my sanity is returning)  - and the schedule has plenty of ‘free time’ and flexibility.
Yes, on to those pictures I mentioned…
The SUMMER began

Alee got mad and got up on all fours

Then she started pulling up

And now she’s crawling! Tonight, she got mad again (see! she learns all of her skills when she’s mad!) – she pulled up to standing in her crib for the first time ever all by herself.

What else?
The kids have goofed off
(guess who she’s pretending to be?")

If you said the statue of liberty you’d be right…unless you’re Kaitlyn..then she’s being the “statue of delivery”
We’ve caught bugs…

Oh, let me rephrase that, Seth and Carolyn have caught bugs and I have allowed them to take my camera to capture proof without having to actually go look at it myself!
We’ve made popsicles

(these pudding pops are better than those in the store…esp the vanilla!)
We’ve gone swimming

I’ve even had time to make a dress! (Carolyn’s on the right)

(We’ll ignore the fact that I have plans to make 10 more (no, I’m not exaggerating!) before the summer’s through…which is why Mom is going to help me!)
We joined the summer reading club…and Seth is tearing through books…he’s into chapter books and I think it is SO cool to see him read by himself for so long! (Even Natalie sat through a chapter book she picked out this week!)

And we’ve taken walks…and coordinated (Seth and Carolyn’s idea)

And we tore up the carpet in the dining room! (Jacob and Brittany were even nice enough to stay up late and pull out nails, tacks, and staples to prep for the new floor!)

And we finally spent the rest of the tax return! (Laminate wood floors for the kitchen/dining rooms…now officially one room…it looks bigger, it’s easier to clean, and I LOVE IT)

The rug got relocated to the den…which I also like.

Maybe I’ll show you pictures of the rest of the house (since we’ve reorganized it)…while the kids are off visiting grandparents this week…and I expect it will stay cleaner!

        Happy Father’s Day

I love how they all coordinated. My kids love to go on bug hunts (especially Jackson).
