Beds and Sickness - long post

So I bought toddler beds Friday (which was an adventure, b/c of course I loaded the big ol' boxes into the cart by myself, pushed the side-by-side stroller and pulled the now unstable cart through the store to grab the few other things we needed, and got the three girls out to the car, and had to drive back to the door to load the beds by myself - in the rain)... Anyways...here they are the first night:

Natalie 'christened' hers Friday night, so I had a load of doodoo laundry to do Saturday morning before heading out to visit Rob's parents. But they slept through the night, and at normal wakeup time (a little after 6), they were up and ready for everyone else to be up!

So, I took down one of the cribs in the room Saturday morning (mostly so Carolyn could get into her dresser). Saturday night, 4 am, crying awoke us. We went in, checked on them, put them back to bed and thought all was well. 4:50 am, crying again awoke us (oh, no! I thought...maybe they weren't ready). I went in to find empty beds, then saw them squished between Carolyn's bed and the other crib. When Kaitlyn came out, her shirt felt wet...ew, and yukcy! Lights went on, Rob was called up again, and the "fun" began! So, Kaitlyn's bed also was "christened" with vomit. While cleaning it up, Carolyn joined in the fun. By first thing Sunday morning, Natalie joined in the fun too. Needless to say, we stayed home from church!

Natalie slept on one of us most of the morning:
By mid afternoon, she was taking in as much food as she could, and was mostly ok.
Kaitlyn continued to puke during the morning while running around like the energizer bunny! (I thought kids were supposed to be pretty much comotose when they had a stomach bug!) By mid afternoon, her battery ran out and she's been laying on us since then.
Carolyn has been calm and pitiful since Sunday morning. She was one of the first to throw up, and is still the only one actively throwing up. (Once, when Rob asked if she was ok...b/c we were just going from child to child all day, she responded, "I'm just throwupping again.")
Mommy's turn to hold the babies. (We mostly held one each, but sometimes, they'd both want the same parent.) Kaitlyn became very attached to Rob and would cry when he had to get up for something.
We kept Seth quarantined in hopes that he wouldn't catch it. He played or watched "Sunday movies" (living scriptures or veggie tales movies) in his room all day. Around 2 pm, his body finally gave in to what the others in the house had. (He's been much better throughout the day today.)

During the night, Rob got up to check on the kids, and Kaitlyn's bed was empty. He found her in
Seth's room. (Isn't that sweet?) He did move her back as there's a gap between the bed and wall I was afraid she's roll into and get stuck in.

Natalie brought us a pair of training panties today. I thought, that is the last thing Rob needs - another mess to clean up! so I put them on over her clothes. (Yes, the sickness got me this morning, so Rob stayed home from work today to help again.)

Mostly they're feeling better except for Carolyn. I'm still a little wary about eating more than crackers or toast. Natalie has gone around today aggravating everyone (I mean on purpose, like poking at people or pulling hair or walking off with their bucket, pushing, shoving, anything that they seem not to like, she does more of!)

A good thing about this weekend's sickness? Hopefully having it now will mean we don't have to have it during Christmas and New Years as we did last year!

Oh Beth! I'm so sorry!! We are sick too but it's not the gastro bug but the sore throat/upper respiratory junk! I hope everyone will be better soon! (My twins STILL bed hop...I never know where they will be in the morning..I just know they are rarely in their own room!)

Oh Beth...I feel so bad for you..I HATE the stomach bug..we always end up taking one of the kids to the hospital and if we get it then we have to endure it while we are taking care of them! I hope that things will return to normal in your household very soon!

I love the toddler beds. They look so sweet all snuggled up in bed. I too hope you are all over your yearly bug. I still remember last year's yukky holiday surprise. We are all looking forward to fun and well folks on Thanksgiving.
