1. Each morning Kaitlyn would run to the door after we put her swimsuit on and stand there whining until it was officially time to go! (No one wanted to cooperate in this "ready to go to the beach" picture I was going for.)

2. Natalie playing with dirt/mud.

3. Carolyn often isolated herself from the rest of us. She is such a solo kind of person.

4. Again, Carolyn couldn't share the mud hole with the others...she needed her own.

5. Seth and Natalie played well together and had lots of fun in the water/sand. Note Natalie's new shoes - her crocs. When I got there, mom told me about the $3 crocs she'd seen at walmart, so Monday morning we went and got some. They loved them (and are so easy to clean!). Seth told me today that he didn't have any shoes like the babies and he wanted some. (I hope his size crocs are $3 too!)

6. Kaitlyn - my little beach pig liked to lie down in the wet sand!

7. Note the flying dirt next to Natalie's arm - don't want to be too close to this little sand flinger.

8. En Garde!

BROADWAY AT THE BEACH:
9. Driving the boats - well pretending to...

10. Seth likes riding on rides - like the airplane that he got to control the height of (up and down and up and down and up and down...)

11. And the cars - I took this one specifically b/c the cars went slowly down the side of the oval track and when each hit the ends of the oval track and had to go around, the car would whip around super fast - he did that happy yell (like you do on a roller coaster) - it was cute.

12. There were some fish in the water under the bridges (Broadway at the Beach) and for a quarter you could feed the fish - Carolyn's favorite part of that trip.

13. Have you ever seen such excited fish? There was one that was lying on top of all the others on top of the water at one point trying to get more food!

14. Such a typical moment - Natalie wanting to try something (without fear) and David playing on his cell phone!

15. Yes, someone finally did put in real money so that Seth could drive the remote control boats. (Carolyn drove one too.)

16. Carolyn wanted to go home, but was able to work up a smile for this picture with Grammy and the cool balloon she got for free from a balloon twister. Oh, there was nothing left of that balloon by the time we left Broadway at the Beach.

17. Me and Rob standing near the kids at the carosel. (My uncle in the background met us there to hang out. Floyd and Laurel's pic is already on Mom's blog.)

BACK TO THE BEACH:
18. I found this cool shell...then found out something was still living in it. Rob and David had no guilt in bringing it home and cooking the little mollusk out of it so I could keep it. (I felt a little bad, but not bad enough to throw it back!) Unfortunately, no one could eat the escargo because before Rob thought to boil it, David soaked it in Windex! Oh well!

19. We tried the pool one day...not a big hit. The babies did not like having to be held the entire time and didn't have the calmness to stay on the steps in the shallow water. Time to go!

20. Kaitlyn wants me to LET GO and let her down. She liked to run in, sit down, and let the waves hit her. And she DIDN'T WANT HELP!

21. Waiting on the waves...

22. Kaitlyn teases (my dad) Grandaddy...she wants him to tickle her tummy...then she runs when he would get close, giggling the whole time. (Thank goodness one of the kids like Grandaddy!)

23. Still playing with Granddaddy.
Here's a video of Kaitlyn. She ran in and out and in and out, and we had to take turns chasing her b/c she would wear us out so! Mom finally convinced her here that she could sit near the ocean and the waves would come to her (rather than going in waist deep and sitting down only to be smashed in the face with salt water waves). At the end of the video, Daddy gives Grammy a break and starts his 'shift' with Kaitlyn. (You won't see any videos of me with her b/c I was the only one to take videos.)
In this next one, Rob is taking a turn with our little fish baby. Notice how she wants to be really into the water, and then even when splashed in the face, does NOT want to get out! So cute (and nerve testing)!
And alas, our beach trip must end:
Kaitlyn needs two thumbs to comfort her on the way home.
Natalie was tired of being in the carseat after almost 3 hours, so as we entered our neighborhood I turned around to find her coming out of it! (I'll be tightening those straps next time!)
