OHIO Trip
We left as soon as Rob got off work last Thursday. We drove as far as we could and stayed in a place just below the border of Ohio (in WV).
Thursday
I saw deer eating on the side of the interstate. The fall colors were so much more vibrant the farther north we got. I tried to get some pictures, but my camera just did not do it justice. (The pictures are a little darker than it was outside b/c I took them while Rob was driving 70mph up the interestate, so I had to use a fast shutter speed to keep them from blurring.) Here's one taken Friday:

Saturday
Saturday morning we had pictures taken. Carolyn was a little wired (not quite enough sleep). Seth was too, but he was manageable. The babies were off and on, but Kaitlyn wanted mostly me. I'm not sure how they will turn out (the pictures)! Saturday night was the 50th anniversary celebration for Mem and Pep Bailey. Kaitlyn had a tummy ache (I discovered after she spit up all over me), but loved the music at the end. Carolyn had a ball playing with Teresa and others of Pat and Liz's kids (Rob's cousins) and also with Mem and Pep Bailey. Seth loved playing with the boys - Caleb and Joseph. Natalie was so tired and fell asleep on Rob's grandfather at the end...very cute. She opened her eyes for the picture I took, so she doesn't look asleep. Meme is holding Kaitlyn.

I only wished I had remembered to take a picture of our family all dressed up with my camera. One of Rob's cousins even offered, and I declined thinking we had gotten some...oh well, hopefully someone else did!
Sunday
What an adventure. I had mapped out the church building for our local chapel. I meant to call, but had gotten busy and forgotten. So, we pulled up to find an empty parking lot. Hmm... I called Mom and Dad and they looked up online and discovered it was stake conference (our 2nd guess). Our first guess was "oh, no! - we forgot about daylight savings time again!" (We showed up for church an hour early once when we were first married.) So, they gave us the directions to the church from mapquest (curses to mapquest - google is better). We drove there and found a mailbox in front of an open field. Was the building translated? Did the Mormons get run out of Ohio again? (Yes, of course, I'm joking!) So, we called Rob's parents this time. (I didn't want to bother mine again...we take turns bothering our parents for things.) They said it was down the street from the Kirtland Temple and called a friend who used to live in the area. Finally, we found it! Yea!
Monday
(I spent some time in the laundry room fixing a problem that arose with the first load I tried to do. Most is saved. I prayed that everything would go perfectly for Mem and Pep's celebration and the driving to go well...I forgot to include the rest of the trip in my prayers! I will not forget next time!) :)
We celebrated birthdays. Brunch, naps, Chuck E Cheese, then back home for presents and cake. The cake was an ice cream cake with cake donuts for the bottom crust and Oreos crumbled on top sealed with magic shell. What an intersting combination - it was really good!

Tuesday
We left about 10 to drive home and made it home 10 that night. The kids were ok for the long one-day drive.
Kaitlyn had been a little warm over the weekend, and was warm all day Tuesday. She was not warm enough to bother looking for a thermometer, so I'm guessing teething. The drastic temperature change has given the babies colds too. So, they're a little snotty. Kaitlyn did not go trick or treating due to her low-grade fever and cold and grumpiness. She did not mind going to bed instead. See below for picture of all in costume.

The scenery just got better and better. We left the hotel we stayed at over night and drove on to Richfield to visit Grandpa Venus. Then continued on to Chardon, OH. Friday night we celebrated Pepe Bailey's 70th birthday. Seth loved playing with all the younger Bailey cousins. Carolyn wanted to stay near me, but was happy. Natalie was passed around and would go in the nursery with the kids when we needed her to go in. Kaitlyn was glued to my hip all night (or screaming on someone else's)! Here are the men in the kitchen making enchiladas...yum!
