Our week on FIRE

Image
Such a big deal week! In addition to milestone moments for 4 out of 6 kids, extracurricular activities exploded, changes happened at church, and we a significant accident this week! The crazy is still being cleaned up and planned projects this week are still in force. Anybody else ready for Thanksgiving just for the break?? Let's go one by one! Seth got his driver's permit last Monday. Rob has driven with him in the parking lots. I haven't yet. Drivers beware! Another teenage driver is on the road! Carolyn had her first young women in excellence with our *old ward Wednesday night. The girls all made books to talk about something they accomplished this year. Carolyn told about planning the baby shower. (She and her friends were portrayed as animals in her story. It was really cute.)  Carolyn had an orchestra concert Thursday night. She's in honors orchestra this year. And as of Friday, Carolyn is officially a teenager and can now get on all social media. Fri...

Roca, Papel, Tijeras!

The kids are all done with one quarter of the school year. (I'm not rushing it along because I don't want time to go too quickly, but I do live for school breaks.) Most made honor roll (Seth missed it by 1 point in his AP class.) ALEE Alee is loving school. She does well and is learning fast. Her teacher took it as a personal challenge when I told her Alee doesn't like to read. (This surprised her because she reads in class when she should. Alee is good at conforming to expectations in school though.) Within 2 weeks of our conference, her teacher had found several chapter books she enjoys! (The Junie B Jones series I worried about my girls reading because she's a sassy little snot, but Alee's a little sassy herself already, so I don't worry so much about its influence, and I assume she probably relates to the main character. I'm just glad she's reading without me nagging. Baby mouse, comic style graphic novel, is her other top choice.) She's g...

Seth's 15th Birthday and Halloween 2017

Gideon spends a lot of time in the car, and he is finally learning it is not purgatory and it is temporary. His recent interest in toys is helping. Shopping with multiple girls....I'd rather have to drive with Gideon screaming. Alee was shopping for flats (we needed one pair for school and one for church since she ruins shoes like a pro). We did find flats...but these were also a "necessary" purchase. What a girl! Gideon, like all of my babies have, loves to look at himself in the mirror. I think his little tongue here is so cute! He is a generally happy baby and lets us pass him around when he's not hungry or tired. Again, the tongue = happiness! Yep, everything goes to his mouth. Guess who is 15 now?? Gideon's shirt says "Cool like my bro", and he is cool. Seth's so laid back and really puts up with having 4 sisters pretty well. He's a good kid and not too hard of a teenager so far. He reads his scriptures an...
