...Between summer trips...

Besides the last week of school and the New Hampshire trip, the only other thing we really did in June was swim lessons (2 weeks). Well, and a family hike. This summer's a little crazy with our trips and church stuff and swim lessons, so we kept it local and did the Riverwalk downtown. Swimming Lessons Some of the kids took off and did great, learning enough so I feel confident with them swimming in the deep end with me watching (and not hovering over them constantly). Some were more reluctant to get in...I got 2 days out of 8 with Alee. [sigh] At least she finally let up her death grip on the swim instructor for her group and used the noodle. Some were a little nervous about certain skills, great with others, and made good progress.  (But she'll be taking another round of lessons with Alee -- when Alee is ready to cooperate in a couple years.) My longest post ever! - 10 day Road Trip to NH and back

The summer is supposed to be a time to relax, but not this summer! We hit the ground running with a road trip to New Hampshire. (In case you're wondering, it's about an 18 hour drive there...by the time you add the time there plus back plus around here and there, we probably clocked a full work-week worth of hours  in our 10 days!) DAY 1: Friday, June 6th Half day at school followed by Drive to NC (to stay with Grandma and Gramps for the night). It's about 4 hours there. DAY 2: Saturday, June 7th The official first day of driving really long hours! Travel from NC to DC (by lunch - 4 hours), then to NY (another 4 hours, passing through around supper, then to CT (about another 2 hours - stopped for a late supper and stay the night.)
